Review: Santanera Tahona Blanco

Santanera Tahona Blanco - NOM 1123 - 41%
Confirmed additive free on Tequila Matchmaker. This comes from enthusiast darling, Cascahuin, utilizing their tahona stone, horno cooking, and is bottled at a slightly elevated proof. There's some chatter on the price (north of a hundred bucks). My notes were compiled before I looked into the brand. My favorite blanco out of 1123 so far has been Cascahuin Tahona Blanco.
Notes: Minerality and lime make for a bright nose. The body is light. Palate delivers more minerality and citrus. Finish is clean. Unfortunately, the body and top-note heavy profile leave this playing thin.
Score: 6 (Solid) What's here is enjoyable, but it's two-note and linear. I ran into similar issues with LALO which many enthusiasts really enjoy. Santanera is a good fit for LALO fans. For me, Cascahuin Tahona Blanco is more enjoyable as well as more attractively priced.
