Notes: Noorbo Handelen WP 2004

Noorbo Handelen Worthy Park 2004 - 63.3%

An independent bottling of Worthy Park by Nooro Handelen.

Since opening in 2007 as a Danish specialty shop for spirits, Noorbo Handelen has expanded its concept with its own café with local specialities, including Nyord mustard. In the Nyord mustard mill, right next to Noorbo Handelen, you can experience the production, taste and buy the seasons' mustard. Noorbo Handelen also produces its own bitters and liqueurs from local fruits and herbs, homemade jams and jellies. In recent years, the Noorbo Handelen trades a fine small production of quality olive oils and balsamic vinegars from Sicily, which are bottled in beautiful carafes according to the customer's wishes.

Wish they shipped stateside. I love that you can select the amount you want bottled from 100-700 ml. What a great way to sample more stuff and try before you fully commit. I do wish there was more info on the labels. I can't find an age statement for this release and there's no indication of continental or tropic aging.

Notes: Toasted, nutty, and seaweed driven on the nose. Toasted sesame seeds. Palate leans savory and vegetal. Toasted seeds and nuts again. Some background banana - leaning grilled and underripe. Funk and fruit are definitely dialed back here. Structure is wonderful. Soft up front, layered between the vegetal and nutty notes, long and chewy in the finish.

Score: 7 (Highly Recommend) Plays a little two dimensional. Could use some big fruit or hogo notes to fill it out. That said, the structure is highly satisfying and the ABV is really well integrated. I forgot how high proof this was.
