Notes: El Jolgorio Tobala

El Jolgorio Tobala (2015 - Edition #11) - 47.9%

Mezcal Reviews: El Jolgorio Tobala is made from wild maguey Tobala. Growing wildly in high altitudes, its relatively tiny size yields limited quantities of intensely aromatic Mezcal.

Fun side note: The first proper date my wife and I went on was to an El Jolgorio tasting at Moreno's back in 2017. I'd say it went pretty well.

Notes: Tons of pine and resin - super forest-y nose. Lemon and fresh bell pepper round things out. Structure is full bodied and very active. Piloncillo and citrus before lifting into big pine and resin. Long and super green on the finish (epazote).

Pour This For: Easy sell for IPA drinkers.

Score: 8 (Stash One) Really dig the pine/resin forward profile. Mezcalero #25 delivered it as well. Both of those are worth stashing.
