Review Cascahuin Tahona Blanco

Cascahuin Tahona Blanco (Lote 1037, 2019) - NOM 1123 - 42%

Cascahuin has been producing tequila at their distillery in El Arenal, Jalisco since 1904. This release reintroduced the traditional tahona stone used to mill the agave. In the 1980s, Cascahuin retired their tahona while the agave market was slow, but they brought it back a couple years ago for Cascahuin Tahona Blanco.

At 42% abv, this batch was distilled to proof so no water was added before bottling.

Notes: Crisp, green vegetal notes. Balanced florals and light melon. Fantastic aromas. Spicier and earthier on the palate. Florals and baked sweets clean things up on the backend. Controlled, soft structure. Patio pounder - pour responsibly.

Score: 8 (Stash One) This one hits all the right notes for me. Up there with my favorite still strength blancos.
